Jumping Jack Park Build

Heads up - Jumpin’ Jack will be closed for park builds and snowmaking early this week. We’re going to take advantage of solid snowmaking weather, pile up the snow, and add more features throughout the week. I hear a jump line is in Jumpin’ Jack’s near future…

Also, in honor of Go Snowboarding Day on Monday Dec. 21st, the park crew is setting up a flat box in the Bear Peak base area. Our freestyle coaches from Switch Academy will be there all day offering up free tips. (Yes, we said free.)

More park build info coming soon.

Opening Tomorrow.

Just got back from the hill. The park crew is hard at work pushing, shoveling, raking and manipulating the snow in preparation for tomorrow’s opening at South. The South chairlift will be spinning from 12pm-9pm. Expect to see a mixture of small and medium hits & jibs from top to bottom.

Snowmakers are blasting 6 trails at South from top to bottom every minute weather permits. (That includes Jumping Jack.) In some spots, we've already got a couple feet of snow on the ground. Check back throughout the week for more pics. -Halley

Jib Yard.

Got some photos of the jibs waiting in the not-so-secret jib yard at South. They’ve been welded, grinded, painted and they’re ready to head up the mountain. Not going to lie… they are some of the sexiest jibs on the east coast. And they miss you. -Halley

Artistic Masterpieces.

It takes a keen eye and great talent to create artistic masterpieces. For example…

Leonardo da Vinci. The Mona Lisa.

Michelangelo. The Sistine Chapel.

JibLab. The brightest rails this side of the Mississippi.

While you’re sliding one of these beauties this winter, remember - every drip was painted with love.

JibLab Teaser

Ah, yes. The sultry sounds of welding and grinding. It's like melodious poetry. See the boys in action and learn to appreciate the finer sounds in life. -Halley

Mmm. We love the smell of melting steel in the morning.

Park rats, rejoice. Marc Tremain and Chris Korwan are back in the JibLab cleaning up old stuff and prepping new stuff for the 2009-2010 season. Marc, terrain park extraordinaire and multitalented wonder is toting the welder in the photos below. It’s not easy being awesome, but he sure does make it look that way. Korwan was also welding, grinding and being burly… but he was a bit camera shy.
