The North Face Video Contest Winner

After reviewing a handful of Opening Week entries, The North Face and secret ninjas at Mountain Creek have chosen a winner based on caliber of riding, editing, song choice and other good stuff.

Congrats to Brandon Chiesa. He'll be walking away with 2 setups from The North Face's Cryptic Series.

Keep the edits coming. We really enjoy watching your banger tricks, hilarious crashes, random chairlift monologues and parking lot musings. For the weekend, we're planning on having close to 45 features in the ground at South, Bear and The Arena.

Happy Holidays.

New Jibs.

JibLab has been hard at work all summer long, working 12+ hours a day through some of the hottest temps on record. Seriously. July 2010 broke records for its scorching temperatures. Lucky for us, JibLab's work is far from over which means new jibs are coming.

Be on the lookout for the jibs pictured below and a bunch of other new features, including a 13-foot halfpipe on Bear Peak.

Top to bottom: 30-foot SUPER thin handrail, mellow pitch. 20-foot rainbow butter box. JibLab mushroom bonk.

Work It Out Trailer

Meathead Films came through last spring and got some banger shots on Canyon (yeah, we said Canyon), the quarterpipe and other random spots throughout the park. Some are saying it ranks among the best trailers this season.

From record-breaking 5 foot blizzards in Washington DC to 10 inches of rain in New England, Meathead Films spent the winter of 2010 scouring the East Coast on the hunt for epic days. No matter the weather, the crew was forced to roll with the punches and just work it out. Tag along as their relentless search takes them to the craggy White Mountains backcountry, back alleys of Maine, custom park jumps in New Jersey, and even to the “Far East” of Hokkaido, Japan on their first ever overseas voyage. Filmed in High Definition, 16mm and Super 8mm film, Work It Out showcases the spirit, creativity, and unwavering determination it takes to be an Eastern skier.

The Stockpile Session: Winter's Last Hoorah

If you weren’t here this past Saturday, you dropped the ball. We had a great time shredding, getting sunburns, barbequing, chugging Red Bull and raising over $1,000 for the VSMO. Thanks again for coming out and spending one last day with us.

Check out the videos below and let the countdown to winter begin. (Unless you plan on joining us on Lake Hopatcong for a little wakeboarding… which you should, because it’s going to be awesome.)

Full photo album from the Stockpile Session can be found here.

Awkward Stockpile Climbing

A few of us went up to see the remains of our 22' beast of a quarter pipe. Good news - it's still there and we're pushing all of it out for this Saturday's Stockpile Session.

I thought it would've been a good idea to climb it so you could gauge its size. Stupidly, I didn't think of how difficult (and scary) it would be to get down. Get ready for some awkward climbing.

FYI - Details on the setup will be posted later this week.

Hometown Heroes

Congratulations go out to our hometown heroes Alexa Cerra, JT Bingler, Stephen Cerra and Sean Neary for throwing down at the Mid-Atlantic USASA Regional Championships.

Sean Neary and Alexa Cerra took home 1st place for the 10-11 year old division in slopestyle. JT Bingler secured 3rd place in the Youth 14-15 year old division. Stephen Cerra qualified for boardercross and is also an alternate in the slopestyle division. While they’re not old enough to see a rated R movie un-chaperoned, they’ll be traveling out to Copper Mountain on April 3rd to compete in the 21st Annual National Championships. Wish them luck! -Halley

Who would've thought you could make an art gallery out of a spot reserved for chicken tenders and cheese fries? We worked with Red Bull & Zoo York to do just that.

Zered Basset and the Zoo York crew came through last Saturday night for his first photo show ever. Kids tore up the skate bowl all night next to some of Zoo York's pro skateboarders.
