Red Bull Zered Basset

Who would've thought you could make an art gallery out of a spot reserved for chicken tenders and cheese fries? We worked with Red Bull & Zoo York to do just that.

Zered Basset and the Zoo York crew came through last Saturday night for his first photo show ever. Kids tore up the skate bowl all night next to some of Zoo York's pro skateboarders.

Check out the video from Zoo York. -Halley

K2 Pretty In Pink Recap

We had a good time at the K2 Pretty in Pink rail jam last night. More than just a rail jam, this contest was a part of Paint the Mountain Pink weekend - an effort to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. Approximately 30 girls entered the comp and did their thing on the course featuring a hand rail, down box, flat bar and two familiar features from the 3rd Rail’s setup. Between the prelims and the finals, K2 reversed limbo’d everyone and set up a high ollie contest.

Here are your winners!

K2 Pretty In Pink Results:

Open:
1st Place - Kasandra Dolan
2nd Place – Tara Eminson
3rd Place – Danielle Lavery

16 & Under:
1st Place - Nina Orenstein

2nd Place – Lexi Sara
3rd Place – Madison Johnson

For more pics from the event, check out the album on Facebook.

Thanks to everyone that participated and we hope to see you at the Girls Only Shred Sessions every Tuesday night. (It’s a good way to prep for next year’s jam!) -Halley

Work on your ollies, too – there will be a High Ollie contest at 7:30pm between qualifiers and finals.

Also, the Volcom Peanut Butter & Rail Jam will be making its 5th return to Mountain Creek this Sunday the 24th. Get here early if you want in on the contest – registration starts at 8am and fills up quick. (FYI – online registration is already closed.) 3rd Rail Recap

The 3rd Rail was beastly. Huge contest, on snow DJ, graffiti artists, emcee battle (congrats A. Class), tons of people, followed by the after party of the season featuring Slick Rick the Ruler.

Over 130 skiers and riders came out to compete on what could have been the best course Mountain Creek has ever had. Props to the Park Crew for the time, effort and attention to detail spent on the setup.

The level of riding was unmatched. Many said they've never seen a final with so many technical tricks landed. Congrats go out to our 3rd Rail winners:

Tara Eminson, Girls
Sean Neary, Juniors
Dhane Knakkergaard, Skiers
Tim Kempson, Best of Breed

Thanks to all that competed, watched, worked, sponsored or spent time with us on Saturday. Check out the Rapid Play from the 3rd Rail below and we'll see you next season for more of the same. -Halley

Precious Updates on 1.5.09

I caught up with Marc in the grooming cat yesterday. He broke down the upcoming builds on Bakersfield, Flying Fox and the Bear Base area. He also played some wicked air guitar to country music. Word in the cat is South and Bear will house close to 45 features by the weekend. -Halley
