reminds us why we do what we do…you kids continue to make us proud! After

Beast Coast: Mountain Creek Edition by Andrew Keyser
This past weekend we took a trip back in time to 1987 in celebration of 25 Years of Snowboarding (1987-2013) at the resort. It was a weekend filled with mullets, mustaches, methods and plenty of vintage style. The high point of the weekend was the first annual Not-So-Legendary Banked Slalom event. Under sunny skies and classic spring riding conditions over 100 RADically dressed competitors took to the course of banks, berms, rollers and booters. Racers were judged not only on their time but also their overall style, and the tight and technical course quickly separated the pretenders from the contenders. It was an awesome display of carnage and style as the riders put it all on the line for glory. While the poachers trained up for some epic snake runs through the course. When it was over here’s how the winners stacked up:
East Snowboard Magazine's Greg Furey swung through last week to shoot some pics with the Mountain Creek Terrain Parks Team. Here's a sneak peek at the goods...
We had a great turnout for K2's 7th Annual Pretty in Pink at Mountain Creek. Lots of ladies showed up and represented hard, throwing down on rails while raising awareness for breast cancer and just having fun. Everyone involved in the event - riders, instructors, judges, coordinators, even marketing staff - was all female.
The day started off with a free learn-to-freestyle session and tips on how to hit features, while K2 lent out hard goods to demo. Then the girls hiked the Arena to practice on the 5-jib set-up. Finally, the rail jam took place with rounds for ages 17+ and 17 and under. All the participants killed it! Awards were given out, followed by food and drink specials at Kink.
